Happy New Year!

Ruler

We are thrilled to bring in the new year with our loyal customers and look forward to continuing to provide coated PTFE components for use in the design and manufacturing of advanced catheter systems.

Since partnering with Vance Street Capital in January 2019, we have been busy investing in the business. We have made great strides in building out our talented team, adding PTFE coating capacity and developing a new website platform – which we look forward to sharing with you in February. With the focus on you, our customer, the first headcount additions to our internal team have been to improve your customer experience.

Customer service is top of mind for us, so we have hired our first Customer Service Representative, Karen Mason. Karen comes to Applied Plastics with over 22 years of customer support experience in a fast-paced environment within the automotive industry. Since joining the team in October, Karen jumped in with both feet and enjoys speaking with customers on a regular basis to help meet your needs.

Applied Plastics is committed to delivering high quality components, held to tight tolerances that consistently meet our customers’ needs for a lubricious and robust coating.

To continue to improve our Quality Management System, Applied Plastics has recently added two team members dedicated to maintaining our high-quality standards. Ed Perry, Director of Quality & Regulatory, joined Applied Plastics in September with over 23 years of experience in quality and manufacturing. Most recently, Ed worked at MicroGroup, part of TE Connectivity, for 8 years where he focused on quality and regulatory within an ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 13485 manufacturing environment. In 2020, Ed will focus on maintaining and improving AP’s Quality Management System. To support Ed in this effort, Tracey Spicuzza joined Applied Plastics in October as our Document Control Specialist and brings over 13 years of quality experience in the medical industry.

Superior medical devices require superior coatings.

Our proprietary PTFE Natural® coated mandrels offer unmatched benefits.

low-co-friction

Low Coefficient of Friction

PTFE Natural® coatings provide a coefficient of friction generally in the range of 0.05 to 0.20, depending on the load and sliding speed.

heat-resistance

HEAT-RESISTANCE

PTFE Natural® coatings can operate continuously at temperatures up to 550°F and can be used for intermittent service up to 600°F with adequate ventilation.

non-stick

Non-Stick

Non-Stick Very few solid substances will permanently adhere to a PTFE Natural® coating. While tacky materials may show some adhesion, almost all substances release easily.

chemical-resistance

CHEMICAL RESISTANCE

Chemical environments usually do not affect a PTFE Natural® coating. Only molten alkali metals and highly reactive fluorinating agents are known to affect this coating.

robust-coating

ROBUST COATING

The proprietary PTFE Natural™ coating process enhances the substrate bonding surface to provide optimum lubricity without flaking or cracking.

non-wetting

NON-WETTING

Since PTFE Natural® finishes are both hydrophobic and oleophobic, cleanup is easier and more thorough.
