Applied Plastics Introduces International Shipping Capabilities to Online Store

Leading provider of PTFE coated catheter components supporting innovation globally

NORWOOD, MA –– Applied Plastics LLC, a portfolio company of Vance Street Capital and a leading provider of PTFE coated mandrels and fine wire to the advanced catheter market, is adding international shipping capability to its online store.  The ability to ship globally from the Applied Plastics’ PTFE Natural® online store will enable our international customers to procure and receive PTFE coated mandrels faster.

Applied Plastics understands the medical device market’s need for speed and high-quality PTFE coated components while designing and developing new products and processes. The online store features in stock, PTFE Natural® coated stainless steel mandrels and wires with diameters ranging from 0.007” – 0.070”.  Product ships within 24 hours of order and includes a Certificate of Compliance.  In addition to the online store, Applied Plastics also carries an extensive inventory of various diameter PTFE coated wire which can be cut to discrete lengths.

Earlier this year, Applied Plastics launched their PTFE coated mandrel and wire online store in the US along with a new website.  After receiving several requests from customers globally, it was clear the importance to offer international shipping from the online store to support R&D.

“We are excited to enhance the capability of our online store with the addition of international shipping.  The Applied Plastics’ team understands the importance of shorter lead times for our customers.  Being able to ship product within 24 hours to both domestic and international customers will help support reduced development lead times,” CEO Thomas Barrett said. “In the near future, we look forward to expanding our online product offerings to better support our R&D customers’ needs.”

Superior medical devices require superior coatings.

Our proprietary PTFE Natural® coated mandrels offer unmatched benefits.

low-co-friction

Low Coefficient of Friction

PTFE Natural® coatings provide a coefficient of friction generally in the range of 0.05 to 0.20, depending on the load and sliding speed.

heat-resistance

HEAT-RESISTANCE

PTFE Natural® coatings can operate continuously at temperatures up to 550°F and can be used for intermittent service up to 600°F with adequate ventilation.

non-stick

Non-Stick

Non-Stick Very few solid substances will permanently adhere to a PTFE Natural® coating. While tacky materials may show some adhesion, almost all substances release easily.

chemical-resistance

CHEMICAL RESISTANCE

Chemical environments usually do not affect a PTFE Natural® coating. Only molten alkali metals and highly reactive fluorinating agents are known to affect this coating.

robust-coating

ROBUST COATING

The proprietary PTFE Natural™ coating process enhances the substrate bonding surface to provide optimum lubricity without flaking or cracking.

non-wetting

NON-WETTING

Since PTFE Natural® finishes are both hydrophobic and oleophobic, cleanup is easier and more thorough.
